Dr. Alicia Calease
As a child, I used to suffer with debilitating migraines every 2-3 weeks. I used to experience nausea, visual changes, vertigo, and intense throbbing migraines. My parents took me a medical doctor who prescribed a medication to help with my migraines which it did for a while. I was so thankful that it gave me some relief, however after a year or two of increasing my dosage and my body adapting to this, my migraines came back. My parents then took me in for a CT scan to make sure that nothing else more serious was going on. Thankfully, the CT scan showed NO abnormal findings, yet that left us with the question..."what is causing the migraines to keep recurring?". As a last resort, my parents took me to the local chiropractor and he began treating me for my migraines and thankfully the frequency and severity of my migraines reduced greatly...from once every 2-3 weeks lasting 1-2days...until now once every 1-2years lasting a few hours. Obviously Chiropractic has played an important role in my life and the quality of life I would choose to have. This is why I chose the profession I did and I hope to help improve my patients' quality of life as well.
After receiving my Bachelors degree (pre-med) from Luther, I headed to Northwestern Health Sciences University to complete my education. I received my Doctorate of Chiropractic from Northwestern in Bloomington, MN. I completed the national boards and became licensed with the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners and the MN Chiropractic Board. I practiced in the Twin Cities for 6 years prior to taking this amazing opportunity to move back to Iowa to be closer to family. I truly believe that things happen for a reason and life has came full circle...I am practicing in the exact location which I received my FIRST chiropractic adjustment close to 20 years ago. I look forward to caring for and helping serve the members of our community!
Dr. Eric Brocka
Hello, I am Dr. Eric Brocka. I’m originally from Readlyn, Iowa, which is about 15 minutes east of Waverly. I attended the University of Northern Iowa and graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. I then headed farther from home to Davenport, IA and graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2015. While at Palmer, I became skilled in techniques including Activator, Diversified, Thompson, Gonstead, and more. After graduation, I took my skills and practiced in the Des Moines area which included Downtown Des Moines, Clive and Ankeny. Coming from a small town, the bigger city just wasn’t the right fit for me. I always knew that eventually I wanted to end up back closer to home and this great opportunity couldn’t have come at a better time. Outside of work someone can most likely catch me doing something outside. I enjoy doing things such as golfing, fishing, hunting, boating, floating, and lots more. I also love watching and playing sports and hanging out with friends and family. I have known since high school that I want to help people in whatever career I decide on. From talking to my own Chiropractor, I became very interested in that profession. I ended up choosing that as my research project topic and after learning all of the benefits involved with Chiropractic, I knew that was what I was meant to do. Your road to health is right around the corner so stop on in!
Colleen Flaig - Chiropractic Assistant
My name is Colleen. My husband (Tim), my three kids (Taylor, TJ and Crayton) and I live in Tripoli. We are all very active outdoors type people. From riding horses, to camping and hiking, to hunting and fishing, we can always find an outdoor activity to keep us busy. Each and everyone one of us receive chiropractic adjustments on a regular basis to keep us healthy. We have been adjusted for ear infections, bed wetting, sore backs and shoulders, and achy knees. I have worked in the health care field for over 12 years and currently have an Associate's Degree in Health Care Administration. I have found that chiropractic adjustments are very beneficial to many health issues. Working at Calease Chiropractic Center has given me the opportunity to apply my degree in the health care field where I fit the best. Call our office and schedule an appointment and I will be happy to help you in any way I can!
Jessica Betts - Chiropractic Assistant
Hello, my name is Jessica but I go by Jess or Jessi for short! A little bit about me: I was born and raised in small town Southeast Iowa, just 4 miles from the Missouri border. I attended the University of Northern Iowa and graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor's degree in Movement and Exercise Science. After school, I moved to Auburn Alabama for a few years and have just recently ventured back to Iowa!! While there, I became the manager of a very competitive tanning salon and actually had the #1 salon in the state a few months running!
A few hobbies of mine: I like spending time with my family, reading a good book series, anything dealing with sports (Go Hawkeyes), and playing fetch with my dog Riley! I love to be outside especially in the fall weather! The BIGGEST thing I missed about Iowa, while living in Alabama, was having actual seasons! I'm an outgoing and energetic person. I love to have fun, meet new people and I try to learn something new every day!
