Dr. Alicia Calease

As a child, I used to suffer with debilitating migraines every 2-3 weeks. I used to experience nausea, visual changes, vertigo, and intense throbbing migraines. My parents took me a medical doctor who prescribed a medication to help with my migraines which it did for a while. I was so thankful that it gave me some relief, however after a year or two of increasing my dosage and my body adapting to this, my migraines came back. My parents then took me in for a CT scan to make sure that nothing else more serious was going on. Thankfully, the CT scan showed NO abnormal findings, yet that left us with the question..."what is causing the migraines to keep recurring?". As a last resort, my parents took me to the local chiropractor and he began treating me for my migraines and thankfully the frequency and severity of my migraines reduced greatly...from once every 2-3 weeks lasting 1-2days...until now once every 1-2years lasting a few hours. Obviously Chiropractic has played an important role in my life and the quality of life I would choose to have. This is why I chose the profession I did and I hope to help improve my patients' quality of life as well.

After receiving my Bachelors degree (pre-med) from Luther, I headed to Northwestern Health Sciences University to complete my education. I received my Doctorate of Chiropractic from Northwestern in Bloomington, MN. I completed the national boards and became licensed with the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners and the MN Chiropractic Board. I practiced in the Twin Cities for 6 years prior to taking this amazing opportunity to move back to Iowa to be closer to family. I truly believe that things happen for a reason and life has came full circle...I am practicing in the exact location which I received my FIRST chiropractic adjustment close to 30 years ago. I look forward to caring for and helping serve the members of our community!

Jess Betts - Chiropractic Assistant

Hello, my name is Jess! I was born and raised in small town Southeast Iowa, just 4 miles from the Missouri border. I attended the University of Northern Iowa and graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor's degree in Movement and Exercise Science. After school, I moved to Auburn Alabama where I became the manager of a very competitive tanning salon and actually had the #1 salon in the state a few months running! Since moving back to Iowa, I have found my passion and pursued a career in Nutrition Response Testing! During high school and college I suffered with severe migraines and fatigue. With this Nutrition Response Testing I was able to build a program specifically for me consisting of natural, whole food supplements and now have energy to get me through the day and zero migraines!

A few hobbies of mine: I love spending time with my little family: Joel and I have four boys Ashton (10), Easton (6), Grayson Lee (3) and Bentley James (8 months)!! We also have our dog Booker and our cat Lucy!! I enjoy staying active by walking, running and bike riding! We are big sports fans, Saturdays in the Fall consist of nothing but college football games and baseball during the summer! I'm an outgoing and energetic person. I love to have fun, meet new people and I try to learn something new every day!

Desiree Benter - Chiropractic Assistant

Hi, I’m Desiree! Most people call me Dez, though. I am originally from Tripoli, a 2011 graduate, but I now live in Fredericksburg. My husband, Benjamin, and I live there with our two daughters, Lydia (4) and Audrey (2). They keep us busy! As a family, we love to travel, be outdoors, and spend time together. Some of our favorite travels are to Northern Minnesota and Oklahoma. We love boating, fishing, and sight seeing. As for my own hobbies, I enjoy hiking, drinking coffee, and bingeing the newest Netflix series! I love to bake and cook new recipes for my family, too! We enjoy trying new foods and restaurants. I’ve been a stay at home mom for 3 years, but I’m very excited to get back into the work force and enjoy some much-needed social interaction! I can’t wait to meet YOU!
